Kupigana Ngumi (“to fight using the body as a fist”) is a Kiswahili term used since 1966 to encompass all of the Afrikan,
Afro-Caribbean and Afrikan American martial arts styles; since there is such an expanse of these systems going back to the time of Ancient Kmt (Egypt).

The Moyo Nguvu style concentrates on several of these styles including: Isinaphakade Samathongo (South Afrikan esoteric style), Kushikana (locking), Angusha (throwing), Skato (close quarter), Kiungo Cha Mkono Pinga (shackle hand), Piga Teke (kicking) and more. We also incorporate Asian styles into our classes., making our martial expression Afri-Asiatic.
Our chief instructor has studied and taught martial arts for over 40 years. Our staff of young adult instructors have studied and taught for 8 to 20 years each.

If you hear the staff refer to this class at Q.T.Y. (QiKung, Tai Chi & Yoga) you will understand. We teach the health, spirituality and self-defense aspects of this versatile art form.
